The forestry industry operates in some of the harshest environments on earth. From dense forests and steep terrain to heavy timber handling and continuous-duty operations, forestry equipment depends on hydraulic systems that deliver consistent performance day after day. At Gear Pump Manufacturing (GPM), we design and manufacture high-quality hydraulic gear pumps that provide the power, reliability, and durability required to keep forestry operations productive and profitable.
Our range of cast iron hydraulic gear pumps is engineered to withstand demanding operating conditions while delivering efficient hydraulic power to a wide variety of forestry and timber-processing equipment. Whether powering grapples, loaders, skidders, harvesters, or processing machinery, GPM gear pumps are built to perform when it matters most.

Our hydraulic gear pumps help forestry operators improve machine performance, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency while maintaining safe and precise equipment control.
Excellent high-demand match. Modern tree harvesters (processing heads) need consistent high flow for feed rollers, delimbing knives, and saws. The higher displacement models (P215–P265) are ideal for the main hydraulic circuits on larger harvesters.
Best overall fit. These machines require powerful, reliable hydraulics for the cutting head, tilt, and propulsion. The P131/P151/P176 and larger P230/P250 series deliver the flow and pressure needed for continuous heavy cutting while handling the extreme vibration and shock common in feller bunchers.
Core forestry application. Cable or grapple skidders rely heavily on winch and grapple hydraulics plus transmission/drive functions. These gear pumps are a standard choice due to their ability to handle high torque demands and repeated shock loading when dragging logs.
High-volume opportunity. Excellent for boom lift, extension, rotation, and grapple functions. The P120/P131 for smaller cranes and P151–P176 for larger ones offer the right balance of size, weight, and performance that OEMs and aftermarket users love.
Strong performer. Forwarders need robust hydraulics for the crane/loader, bunk gates, and drive systems. The pump series provides the reliable power density required for loading, carrying, and unloading heavy timber loads over rough terrain.
Very strong fit. Dedicated log loaders and grapple attachments demand fast cycle times and high breakout forces. These pumps shine in loader valve circuits and auxiliary functions.

GPM's range of hydraulic gear pumps, including the P20, P31, P51, P76, P215, P230, P250, and P265 series, are trusted solutions for forestry equipment manufacturers, hydraulic system integrators, and maintenance professionals. Our pumps provide dependable hydraulic power for lifting, loading, cutting, processing, and transporting timber in the most demanding environments.
With decades of manufacturing experience and a commitment to quality, Gear Pump Manufacturing continues to deliver hydraulic solutions that help forestry operations maximize productivity, reduce operating costs, and keep equipment working efficiently in the field.
